My Bluetooth is not connecting to my lock with the communication Error: “Unable to get status” Message

This error will occur when the lock is unable to connect to BLE. What has likely happened is that the firmware update has not completed which will cause this error.

For a new install if the firmware has not correctly been updated, this can cause a Bluetooth communication error. Action the below steps to reactivate the Bluetooth.

  1. Open the battery case for 10secs then close
  2. Press the “R” button for 10-15 seconds, then you will hear a musical tone and the LED light will flash light blue.
  3. Close done the Yale Access App and reopen and it will be reconnected

If a user has been connected via Bluetooth to the lock and suddenly the connection drops, attempt the below steps.

  1. Check Bluetooth is turned on, on the mobile device.
  2. Press the soft reset button found at the front of the lock where the USB-C external charging point is. The lock will make a series of beeps.
  3. Ensure their phone software is up to date
  4. Ensure the Yale Access App is up to date
  5. Check that they are not having the issue with other Bluetooth connected devices (maybe like a smart watch or keypad)
  6. Open the battery case for 10secs then close
  7. Press the “R” button for 10-15 seconds, then you will hear the lock startup tone and the LED light will flash light blue.
